Gendarmerie sergeant first class Ugur Palanci was martyred in the Olive Branch operation carried out on the Syrian borders. It turned out that Palanci’s brother, Kadir Palanci, was expelled from Balikesir Land Forces NCO Vocational High School with the Decree Law (KHK).
The martyr’s brother, whose father was a retired police officer, was a sergeant student, but he was dismissed from the school with the Decree Law issued after 15 July. The suspension of Ugur Palanci’s brother, who voluntarily participated in the operation in which he was martyred, from his school for ‘treason’, once again revealed the injustice of his accusations after July 15.
Brother Palanci completed the 12th term course together with the other trainees, but he was not graduated and was not given his rank due to the article of Decree Law No. 675, “The procedures regarding the officer and non-commissioned officer candidates whose procurement activities have not been completed by the Force Commands, and the contracted officer and non-commissioned officer candidates have been cancelled”.
Kadir Palanci, upon the martyrdom of his brother, said, “Ugur has reached the rank of martyrdom. May my Lord bless all our soldiers and our army”.
