Death in Exile

Yasin Karaman, who had taught in Guinea, Senegal and Mali, found the solution to go to France with his wife and child when the AKP illegally seized the schools he worked in. The health of Yasin teacher deteriorated. The 27-year-old young teacher, who had cancer, died in France, where he was treated.

The atrocity that came with July 15th left people with no choice but to go to another country to live. Vahdettin Sahin also left Zonguldak for this reason and had to settle in Batumi, Georgia. It had only been three years since he left his country, when he fell down the stairs and suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and lost his life.

Hasan Isik, a religious Scholar, lost his life abroad when the latest corona epidemic was added to the ailments he experienced. Isik, a graduate of the Egyptian Al-Azhar University and Kurra Hafiz, taught Arabic, tafsir and fiqh at universities in Dagestan, Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Orhan Caya was an educational volunteer businessman living in England. He had a heart attack in Germany, where he was going to visit. Caya was treated in hospital and died on August 12, 2019 after being unable to be saved. Orhan Caya was buried in a Muslim cemetery in Germany.

Habibe Eyupoglu, who was forced to stay in Afghanistan, died in the hospital she went to due to chest pain. She left behind a grieving wife and his children, 16-year-old Selman Eyupoglu and 12-year-old Zehra Eyupoglu.

Halil Dinc was the principal of Samanyolu Private Cemal Sasmaz High School, one of the most successful schools in the capital Ankara and affiliated with Hizmet Movement. As a result of the pressures of the regime, he had to migrate to Greece. Dinc died in the arms of his daughter as a result of a heart attack due to his troubles. 

Halit Unal was a well-known businessman in Istanbul. He had to settle in Canada as a result of the witch-hunt in Turkey. Unal passed away in the hospital with homesickness while receiving cancer treatment in Ottawa for a long period of time.

Hasan Burak Gezici was an accounting teacher in Ankara who was purged from his profession by the Decree-Law. Having kidney and blood pressure diseases, Gezici passed away in Germany.

Marine Senior Staff Sergeant Esat Kalkan was a soldier who was serving in Afghanistan. He allegedly committed suicide in Afghanistan, where he was on duty. Kalkan was also expelled from his profession with the Decree-Law issued on November 22, 2016, 3 months after death.
