The unlawfulness in the Tenkil process affected the mental and physical health of tens of thousands of victims’ families. Many of them either got cancer or couldn’t cope with heart failure.
Pinar Cinar, a 29-year-old woman, died of a heart attack while on her way to see her husband, who is being held for alleged ties to the Hizmet Movement. Cinar collapsed minutes before leaving her home in Bursa province to visit her imprisoned husband. She has rushed to a hospital right away, where she subsequently died.
