There was no effective investigation into his death under torture. Journalist Cevheri Güven, who received information from the family and relatives of İbrahim Halil Ozyavuz, who was buried in Harran on June 5, 2018, explained his impressions in Bold News in a video he published. Güven summarized the allegations and dark points regarding Ozyavuz’s death as follows: “His mother and father went to Istanbul after his death. There they are told that İbrahim Halil Ozyavuz committed suicide. Then the family says, “Our son cannot have committed suicide.” They were not told anything about the way he committed suicide. They were only said that he had just committed suicide.”
Contradictory statements from the police

They said, ‘He beat himself to death.’ Of course, this didn´t make sense to the family either. But the police have a reason to say that.It was because there are various signs of assault on the body.
When the family insisted it was not possible, this time the information given to the family has changed for the third time. Finally, they said that his friends in the ward had beat him to death. This didn´t make sense to the family either. Because if such a murder were in question, someone would have to be detained and questioned again. Again, a separate action should have been initiated against them, the evidence had to be collected… There is none.”

While the family is waiting in front of the morgue at the hospital, something interesting happened. His friends who came to take the funeral witnessed a sentence of his father.
