Biography

Hussein Baydar (Huseyin Baydar) was a theologian who devoted himself to education. He has strived to provide educational opportunities to people in various parts of the world, especially in Africa. He came to Nigeria in 2012. On January 12, 2021, Day passed away due to the corona virus he had contracted.
Hussein Baydar was born in Sivas in 1969. After graduating from Bursa Imam Hatip High School, he graduated from Konya Theological Faculty in 1994. One year in Bulgaria and then sixteen years in Algeria, despite various troubles, he took part in educational services. He opened fast and positive communication channels on the identity of a theologian and knowledge of the Koran, as well as Muslim communities in the geographies where he was located. Hussein Baydar left his family in Istanbul at the end of 2012 and moved to Nigeria. Mr. Baydar , who continues his educational services here, as well as his educational activities, also organized various national and international conferences on Prophet Muhammad. In the city where he is located, he has provided many services in the name of dialogue, from the distribution of the Holy Qur’an to publishing and magazine distribution.
Hussein Baydar, who always instilled hope in his friends around him, would worry about the problems of his friends, tears would not be missing from his eyes. Nigerian academics depicted him as “neither sleeps himself, nor puts anyone else to sleep.” Baydar, lastly, was serving as the General Director of the Nigerian Nusret Education and Culture Company. He died on January 12, 2021 due to the Coronavirus. Hussein Baydar was buried in this country.
Two Egyptian and Nigerian scholars who knew Baydar closely wrote two articles about Baydar.
Imam of the Central Mosque of Abuja Abu Bakr Siddiq Muhammad, wrote an open letter for Hussein Baydar in the Leadership Newspaper published in Nigeria, described the work of Hussein Baydar in Nigeria and continued as follows:
“In Nigeria, where there are many Hizmet organizations such as the Nizamiye Hospital, Nile University, NTIC schools in many states of Nigeria, Ufuk Dialogue, and where you served as the president of Nusret, you were a vivid example of Hizmet in every sense of the word when you followed in the footsteps of Islamic scholar Fethullah Gulen..; you were his worthy representative and knight of the Cause. For example, the slogan of the Horizon Dialogue Foundation is as follows: “Let there be a place for everyone in your heart”, a sign in our religious and interfaith relations for both Muslims and Christians. The nurturing of this mutual respect and understanding between followers of different faiths manifested itself through about 100 conferences, seminars, webinars in the institutions of Nusrat and throughout the length and breath of this country.”
‘ LETTER TO HUSSEIN BAYDAR…’
The entire article was as follows:
“Today I prefer to use the Turkish spelling of your name as a sign of respect for you. Since we have spoken Arabic with you, I have had no chance to spell your name in Turkish. Turkish Arabic is a common language in the world. Hüseyin and Hussein are a blurred difference between the two pronunciations actually.
Although I don’t perceive the nature of the life we are in right now, I don’t think of you as ‘dead’ either. I am sure that you live and are provided for by your Lord. (Baqara 154 and Ali Imran 169). But this assurance will not destroy the pain that your go away from us has caused our hearts; it will only perhaps lessen the grief a little.
I know that you are not immortal because Allah grants immortality to no mortal. I believe that we will all – one by one – take this inevitable path, and when our time comes, we will not be able to postpone it for an hour or advance it; indeed, everything will be ruined except for the consent of Allah. To Him belongs the commandment, and to Him we will all be returned.
O Sheikh, after I found out that you are sick, our last talk on the phone came to my mind. Dr. Taufiq Abubakar of Bayaro University announced the sad news on our platform. Our correspondence, in which you informed me that you are still in intensive care and about your condition, was our last correspondence on WhatsApp. Then I met with Dr. Servet Gulerman, the Chief Medical Officer of the Hospital.
My brother Mohammed Emin Yildiz later told me that they have kept all communication devices away from you so that you can get rid of distractions and persistent incoming phone calls and relax. From that moment on, Muhammad Emin Yildiz continued to be my only source of information and communication to you. We had hopes in some of our conversations, the news about your condition was optimistic, sometimes it made us feel depressed and hopeless, and, of course, we began to intensify our prayers. Muhammad Emin asked me to make a video recording to deliver my good wishes and prayers to you, and I did and sent it.
I had to go to Saudi Arabia for a meeting. After arriving in Medina, I called my brother Muhammad. He was so distraught. Among the sobs “Pray for Sheikh Hussein, please”; he was able to say, “We are inculcating him to bring the Word of Glory . The doctors said he wouldn’t make it.”
The devastating news came from the WhatsApp group of our brother Mohammed Emin 24 hours later to confirm our worst fears; I found myself overwhelmed and confused in my desperate sobs and immediately took refuge in the Prophet’s (saas) masjid.
Yes, the eyes will be filled with tears; the heart will suffer, but we will never say anything unpleasant to our Lord. We are really sorry that you left, Sheikh Hussein. In the Prayer of our Prophet, I prayed to Allah for you and was comforted by putting all the good deeds that you have done for your religion out of my mind.
I remembered this 120–episode television program that you compiled for recording in the Hausa language called ’Lessons from the holy life of our PROPHET’ and which will soon be broadcast on many channels – I also remembered that the Nusret foundation organized an information contest on the Eternal Light book written by Fethullah Gulen.
From the moment Allah brought us together, I remembered everything we did together and as a group, until our visits to some Turkish companies in Abuja last December. Me and my wife have expressed concern about how stressful it is for you on visits, but you insisted on continuing to do window shopping. It was like you had a goal that you were tasked with finishing.
Your goal was to please those who met you, even at the expense of your own comfort. You have visited me at my home or office more than 30 times alone or accompanied by guests from Turkey. But for once you didn’t come up empty-handed, there wasn’t a single time you came without buying special chocolates, books, gifts for children.
You were so familiar to all my family, the staff at home and in the office that there was no need for a detailed description to introduce and pray to Sheikh Hussein Baydar.
O Seyh, you sacrificed everything – your country, comfort, security, life, time and family, for Hizmet. You spared no effort to serve humanity; you were the leader, but you behaved like a humble servant.
As the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, Whoever makes for a fasting person iftar, his reward will be written to him as much as his reward. Moreover, for this reason, there is no reduction in the reward of the fasting person.
You have guided and organized hundreds of thousands of Ramadan Iftar programs for ten years. Even this is very difficult to grasp. You were given an occasion to distribute food packages that they can eat not only during Iftar, but also during the entire month of Ramadan.
Do you think that you will suffer loneliness in your grave while you are constantly smiling on the faces of the poor by slaughtering hundreds of cattle and distributing their meat to them every Eid al-Adha?
Why are we saddened by the departure of someone who led the distribution of millions of copies of the Holy Quran to Muslims? Why are we shedding tears for someone who is doing his best to deliver God’s messages to people?
We cry because this is how we can express ourselves, this is a mercy that Allah has placed on the hearts of believers. So, let’s let the tears wet our faces while we grieve and moan over the loss of a dear friend.
Due to the current political interests of the Turkish leadership, if Nusrat and its supporters have become muhajir in Nigeria, we Nigerians should have replaced Ansar by facilitating your mission among us by helping you. But we were late in this regard, you helped us by taking on the role of both Muhajir and Ansar, pressing us to your heart. Allah does not leave the reward of good deeds unrequited!
‘You were a living example of Hizmet’
In the discoveries of the Da’wah initiative under your leadership, you had no concerns about safety, distance, or road safety. You didn’t have any red lines. When we went to Gombe, and then to Gashua, Kano, etc., you showed no signs of fear, and fatigue never hindered you.
“Every time they suffer thirst, fatigue and hunger in the way of Allah, set foot somewhere to anger the unbelievers and seize it, and somehow prevail over the enemy and win, each of them will be written to them as a righteous deed. Indeed, Allah never loses the reward of those who do good and do good deeds.(REPENTANCE 120)”
I will finish with this: Sheikh Jamal Alsafarti from Albania sent this by voice to the Nusret Nigeria Whatsapp platform crying:
‘There is no power but GOD! We will not say anything about this disaster that has befallen us, except what has pleased our Lord. May Allah have mercy on our brother Hussein, who does not need someone like me to glorify him. He hated praise in his life. We pray to Allah that he will honor his arrival, be hospitable, and that Allah will resurrect him with Prophets, the guardians, the martyrs, and the righteous along with those whom He has blessed. They are best friends!’
Congratulations to this group, of which Hussein is also a member. Among the members of this prosperous group is Sheikh Hussein, who is the deceptor of Islam. I would also like to congratulate these decently generous brothers and sisters who embraced him and accommodated him among them.
My faith, dear brothers and sisters, at the point of fateful fate, Allah decided to bless a man like Sheikh Hussein Baydar in the African continent in general and Nigeria in particular, and also Allah honored you with the passing of this man and was buried in your country. We congratulate you on the fact that saints such as Hussein Baydar are buried on the territory of your country; I consider him one of the saints in the Sight of Allah.
I ask Allah to grant fortitude to his faithful, glorious wife, family and those who love him in Turkey, Nigeria and all over the world. We put Sheikh Hussein under the supervision of Allah, who never loses deeds. Have mercy on him! “Amen.”
AFTER A SOLDIER OF MERCY
Saleh al-Qadi, an Egyptian educator and scholar, wrote after the death of Hussein Baydar on www.zamanarabic.com in his article titled ‘After a mercy soldier’, he quoted:
“Yesterday I was startled by the news of the passing of a man who had spent his life on the path of serving humanity at a time I had never expected. Despite all the difficulties that faced him, he remained faithful to his cause, which he believed until his last breath, like a vulture.
Actually, I did not write these lines to express my condolences to the deceased; On the contrary, in accordance with the divine edict of “O people of wisdom and foresight, take a lesson”, I will meet with you once again by reflecting on the lives of our teachers like Hüseyin Baydar and Ali Bayram, whom I had the honor of getting to know closely, or many heroes who lived in the same line even though I did not know them, and what sincerity meanS in serving humanity, I wanted to share once again.
Believing in the service of humanity, being a dynamo that activates their sublime feelings, a torch that blows warmth into hearts in a world where the cold collapses like a nightmare.. It is in their interest to move along the path we know without entering into material and spiritual expectations from any mortal on the path we think is in their interest.
In the depths of your heart, sharing your tears, hearing and feeling the pain of others, not being content with it, running to their help, constantly sowing seeds of hope in your mind and hearts.. Standing up straight like elif without falling down in the face of the inexorable events of the age, knowing from the beginning that the path to serving humanity is not easy, and patiently and his reward is only from Allah (c.c) to continue waiting until the end…
Abandoning comfort and rehabilitation means placing the entire life and mental capital at the disposal of humanity, and then being locked up only with the consent of the Almighty, without falling into the disgrace of waiting for authority, status, material interests or false fame in exchange for the work done.
They are people of love; if they were not sincere in their love, they would not have left their homeland and their children and gone to different parts of the world and lived an expatriate life. They were sincere in their love, subtle in their feelings; they know the problems of others as their own and mobilize all their possibilities for a solution.
Serving humanity means that education is an indispensable element for every person; believing that dialogue is the only way to solve problems and build friendships; that there are no problems that cannot be solved in representation, that real jihad is not to provide authority over people with material power, but to resurrect them with compassion and compassion.
The late Ferid al-Ansari used the phrase ”man of man” for them. They are such men, who emigrate to all parts of the world on the path of serving religion in the guidance of our sahaba masters, and they also know the parts of the land they have visited as the homeland, and the people they have met as brothers and sisters.
They believe that all people are equal like the teeth of a comb, that no one is superior to anyone else except for the criteria that only Allah knows; that true communication will only happen when the omens and aspects of faith are fleshed out in morality, behavior and words.
They make every effort to become a Quranic model. The only flag they raise is the I’la-i Kelimetullah flag with a real representation, not with a team of lacquers and slogans that cannot go beyond the larynx. The only thing that paints their hearts is love and affection; they have no hatred and hatred for anyone in them, and even feel compassion only for those who persecute and slander them, worry about their fate, and pray to Almighty Haqq to find the right path.
He looks at the world with the perspective of the field of the Hereafter, and they do not stop sowing seeds for a moment, planting their eyes on the other harvest seasons. That is why death for them is nothing more than a ticket to get to the true lover.
It is a fact that we miss them and feel their absence; but they continue to live in the hearts of their acquaintances all the time with their manners, words and exemplary lives that smell like rose geranium.
Undoubtedly, the love and affection we feel for ‘men of men’ with these qualities required to take them as models; to be a constant step in the path of good and service to humanity that they walk, and living in the shadow of the Sunnah Seniyyah of our Prophet (s.a.v) who was sent as a mercy to all the worlds, l
This is also the only way to keep their memory alive for eternity.”
