Central Governor Veysel Dalmaz was one of the important bureaucrats that Turkey has trained recently. Dalmaz, who was the governor of Gumuşshane and Sivas, served for a long time as one of the senior bureaucrats who managed the crisis region on the Turkey-Syria border. He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Economics/Finance. He held the post of Central Governor. He served as Deputy District Governor, District Governor, Civil Inspector, Chief Civil Inspector and Advisor to the Minister of Interior.

HE WAS REGIONAL COORDINATOR IN THE SYRIAN REFUGEE CRISIS

Veysel Dalmaz, who was the regional coordinator governor for Syrian refugees in Turkey, had been targeted in the witch hunt initiated by the government after the events of July 15, and was suspended on July 19, 2016. He was later arrested on charges of ‘membership of a terrorist organization’ and sent to prison.
He was released pending trial after being imprisoned unjustly for nine months. However, his experiences led to psychological and physical wear. Dalmaz, who had a heart attack on November 1, 2017 at his home in Ankara, was taken to the hospital and put in intensive care. Dalmaz died on Friday, November 3, 2017, at the age of 59. The ex-governor, father of three, was buried on Saturday, November 4, 2017, in his hometown of Kumluca, Antalya, after the funeral prayer after the noon prayer.
HE WAS EXPECTING ACQUITTAL AT HIS TRIAL ON DECEMBER 14
Veysel Dalmaz, who made legal preparations to be acquitted of the charges against him, had a hearing on 14 December 2017. His lawyer Ali Aktaş, who closely followed and defended case of Governor Dalmaz, shared the following message on social media: “My client, retired governor Veysel Dalmaz, passed away. He had been unjustly imprisoned for about 9 months. He was certain to be acquitted. Inshallah he will reach eternal acquittal. We had a hearing in Ankara on December 14th. Everything was in his favor. He dreamed of getting an acquittal and settling in Antalya. May heaven be granted to him.
The state upset this clean person who was the Coordinator Governor of Syria for many years, without any proper evidence. I am a witness. Veysel Dalmaz was not offended by his state. He has come clean, he has gone to his Lord clean. I ask for a Fatiha. The fate belongs to the righteous. Mr. Veysel was not under arrest. At the first hearing in May, he was released without judicial control. His innocence was obvious. It was clearly a mistake.”
The late Veysel Dalmaz, like thousands of high-ranking bureaucrats, was targeted after July 15 and made the target of plugging and slander.
