He contracted Coronavirus in Bafra Prison, due to poor conditions there. March 24, 2014 – After his condition worsened, Eken was taken to the Bafra State Hospital and treated. Eken, who was being treated for coronavirus in the intensive care unit of the hospital, passed away on the night of April 19.
Eken’s funeral, which was removed to the morgue of Samsun Education and Research Hospital, was sent to Trabzon Forensic Medical Institution for autopsy operations due to coronavirus by the decision of the Samsun Public Prosecutor’s Office. After the autopsy, he was buried in his hometown of Cankırı.
