Biography

Fatih Terzioglu, a director at Samanyoulu TV, started to work as a kebab seller in order to continue his life and earn a living at his home when the institution he worked for was closed during the Tenkil process. But the regime did not leave him alone. He was arrested for 15 prayer messages sent to his phone. As a result of the trials, he was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison. Terzioglu, who got sick in prison, was not released despite all the objections. On June 25, 2020, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. His wife Esra Terzioglu tried to make her voice heard on social media. When his illness reached its final stage, he was released by public pressure. But his illness had reached the last stage. On August 24, 2020, he passed away at the hospital where he was being treated.

Fatih Terzioglu was born on January 20, 1980 in Istanbul. He lost his parents at an early age. His childhood and youth were spent in student dormitories. After graduating from the Department of Radio and Television at the Faculty of Communication of Nigde University, he started working at Samanyolu Tv in 2003. He took part in various programs. In 2004, he moved to the drama department at the same institution as an assistant director and worked on The February Cold, World of Secrets, Kollama, 4. He was involved in many series such as Osman, Compassion Hill, Towards Our Own School. He directed the Sungur series, which was broadcast on Samanyolu TV.

His colleague Metin Yıkar from Samanyolu TV described him as follows:
“Fatih Terzioglu was an artist who was interested in motion pictures, television series, sets, cameras, music, light. He’s talented and hardworking. However, late in college life, (like me and our colleagues.. ) his road intersected with Samanyolu TV. He stepped through the door of the sector he had dreamed of. His first job was to work as assistant in the TV series Over time, he rose to assistant director and then to second director. He was rising in his profession, to be honest. He was the smiling face of the team, , the constant morale of the series sets in difficult working conditions. While working, he got married with his beloved wife Esra, and they had two beautiful children.Business life was also going well, as was family life.
Until Turkey gets into that tunnel in the dark.
in 2015, the institution where we worked was closed by the Erdogan regime. Some of us went to prison, some of us had to go abroad. The rest were labeled, no one gave jobs.
Fatih was also helpless. Spring had returned to autumn.
When there was no one left to do his job and find help, he opened a kebab shop with a few friends for halal sustenance. He was dreaming of ‘when the days are gone, I’ll do series, movies’. But before these dreams of Terzioglu could come true, they sent him to prison. He was on trial for 15 prayer messages that came on his phone. As a result of the trials, he was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison. He was sent to Silivri Prison.
Terzioglu, whose sentence was approved by the Supreme Court in February 2020, has been using antidepressants ever since. After the Eid al-Fitr in 2020, when complaints of vomiting began, Terzioglu was taken to a hospital on the prison campus, given a serum and sent back to the hospital and quarantined in a single cell. Terzioglu, who was imprisoned with 88 kilograms, lost 30 kilograms in a month.
Esra Terzioglu, his wife, who went to a closed meeting on June 22, 2020, said in an interview with Bold Media, “I went to the meeting yesterday. He was in a terrible state. He had lost an awful lot of weight. He put his head in front of the glass. His eyes were closing when he was talking to me. I clicked on the window and said, ‘Fatih, don’t leave yourself, listen to me’. I’m telling him things that will make him happy, he can’t laugh. He can’t speak, he can’t express himself, he’s showing something with a sign. He just cried when he heard that everyone was praying to him, he cried, tears streaming from his eyes like a rope.”

TWO HASHTAGS WERE OPENED ON TWITTER
Two tags were opened on the social media platform Twitter for Fatih Terzioglu. Many social media users have supported ‘Fatih is dying! and ‘Release Fatih Terzioglu’ labels, helping his wife to make her voice heard. His wife Esra Terzioglu said in Bold Media that:
“THERE IS NO PROPER INTERVENTION”
Esra Terzioglu, who first saw her husband in a closed meeting on June 22, 2020, after learning that he was ill, said that she was shocked by the view she encountered and could not recognize her husband. Terzioglu, who tried to make his voice heard by posting a video message, could not hold back tears as she told about her husband’s condition:
“I went to the meeting yesterday.

“NO MR WAS TAKEN, NO CORONA TEST WAS MADE ”
Terzioglu, who also stated that the information provided by the prison administration to her was not correct, continued: “Because I see what has been done and what has not been done from the e-PULSE application. I also asked my husband, his MR was not taken, they say it was taken. They say the corona test came back negative, there was no test. We’ve been trying to do something since yesterday. But I want to make my voice heard more.”
Fatih Terzioglu, who was diagnosed with stomach cancer, had reached the last stage of his illness. Terzioglu, who was not released despite losing 50 kilograms and becoming worse day by day, was released as a result of public pressure. The young director, who was taken to intensive care after his release, passed away in the hospital where he was being treated.

GERGERLIOGLU: TERZIOGLU BECAME A VICTIM OF DELAYED DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT
