Commissioner Yunus Yastioglu, who was on duty in Izmir, learned that he was suspended while in his hometown Osmaniye as part of annual leave. Yastioglu, who fell into a depression, died in the courtyard of the Turkoglu mosque in Osmaniye, by committing suicide with a gun of his own in the morning.
As in many other police suicides, the cause of death and alleged suicide of Yunus Yastioglu were not investigated.
