In Sakarya Ferizli, the condition of Vasif Bayram, who got stomach cancer within 14 months despite entering the prison in good health, worsened with each passing day. He was not released until his illness reached the death level. Bayram was released after his condition progressed too far to respond to treatment and died on December 12, 2018 at the hospital where he was hospitalized in Istanbul. He was recorded as one of the hundreds of prison deaths.
