Journalist Cevheri Guven’s father, Kadir Guven, passed away at 78, yearning for his son. However, the son of famous Cevheri Guven, who had to leave his country and was targeted by the regime, could not go to his father’s funeral and say his last prayer in the cemetery.

Kadir Guven, born in 1943 in Erzurum, was an education lover who grew up with a love of reading. He enrolled in primary school after the age of 13. He worked as a municipal police officer at night and studied at the university during the day. 

When the Metropolitan Municipality was established in Erzurum, one of the largest cities in the eastern part of Turkey, he pioneered the establishment of the Municipality Police Organization because he was the only university graduate civil servant in Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality. After his death, Kadir Guven`s son Cevheri Guven told the following:
