Hatice Cicek Gumus got cancer due to many family members’ problems. Gumus’s 20-year-old son, a student at Police Academy, and her husband, a police officer, were unjustly detained twice.

Hatice Cicek Gumus dealt with many problems after July 15. First, her son, a 20-year-old Police Academy student, and her police husband were detained twice. Then, her brother and sister-in-law were purged and arrested. Mrs Gumus got colon cancer caused by the stress and sadness she endured. Her husband, who was a police officer, was expelled from his profession with a Decree-Law. Mrs Gumus, the mother of 4 children, could not respond to the treatment and passed away in Ankara on September 06, 2017.
