Hasan Erkus worked as a police officer in the Parliamentary Protection Department. However, he was dismissed from his duty with the Decree-Law, and he allegedly committed suicide after posting “I am not a traitor” on his social media account.

After he was notified that he was suspended, he called his relatives on April 26, 2017, and also posted on the social networking site, “I am not a traitor. I have never betrayed my country.”. He ended his life in Ankara with a pistol after posting about his country’s patriotism.
