Hasan Burak Gezici was an accounting teacher in Ankara who was purged from his profession by the Decree-Law. Due to social pressure, fear of arrest and unfair trial, as well as financial difficulties, he fled to Germany and became a refugee. Having kidney and blood pressure diseases, Gezici passed away with homesickness.
Dealing with kidney and blood pressure illnesses, Gezici passed away at the age of 45 in Germany, where he had been for 16 months. He left behind a grieving wife with tears in his eyes and 2 boys aged 6 and 14 in Turkey.
