Caner Durukan, who got cancer in prison after being expelled with a decree law(KHK), died in intensive care.
Durukan, who was expelled with decree law( KHK) while serving in the Develi district of Kayseri, was subsequently arrested. Caner Durukan, a medical officer who spent a year in Nevsehir Prison and contracted cancer, died in the Oncology intensive care unit of Kayseri Erciyes University Hospital, where he was being treated.
Durukan, who was arrested in mid-2017 as part of Cemaat investigations, had been receiving treatment for bowel cancer for close to 2.5 years. When Durukan’s treatment was delayed in prison, the tumor jumped into his liver. His body did not respond to further treatment. He passed away on June 3, 2020.
‘CONTENT WITH WHAT COMES FROM ALLAH…’
Durukan, who was married with two children, was expelled in October 2016 while serving in the Develi district of Kayseri. Durukan’s last words to his family were “I have not done anything wrong in my life, I have not been with the wrong people;the people I know are sparkling and I would like to be with them in the hereafter”. I am not afraid of death,do not let one thousand Caner’s be sacrificed on the day when innocent people are acquitted..
The funeral of 42-year-old Caner Durukan was buried in Sarıoglan district of Kayseri.
