Deaths of Illnes

Enes Anli was arrested and sent to prison. Her mother, Aynur Anli, was very upset about the persecution of her son and died of liver cancer. She passed away, reiterating her son’s name deliriously.

Ali Riza Celik, the Religious Teacher who was expelled from his profession with the Decree-Law No. 672, passed away due to a heart attack, which he had suffered from stress and sadness.

Yunus Emre Yaylaci was a student of Maltepe Military High School. His school was closed during the State of Emergency.Yunus Emre, who was transferred from the Military Academy to Galatasaray University after the liquidation of the military students, passed away on May 17, 2018 as a result of a brain hemorrhage due to the stress he experienced.

Yıldırım Sarp was arrested while he was working as the Deputy Director of the Diyarbakır Security Branch with the title of 4th grade Police Chief. Sarp, who caught cancer in prison, was released after his illness progressed, but later died. He left behind two children and a grieving wife.

Brigadier General Yavuz Ekrem Arslan was the Commander of the Manisa 1st Infantry Training Brigade. Just after the July 15, he interrupted his vacation and ordered not a single soldier to go out. Despite all his efforts he was expelled by a decree-law. Because of the injustices he suffered, he became ill in prison and he died soon after.

Police Chief Yavuz Bolek was arrested as part of the operations directed by the government.Although he was released, he was arrested again after 15 July. Although he had advanced colon cancer, he was tried in pre-trial detention. Bolek, whose treatment was interrupted in prison, had a stroke. Although he had brain surgery twice and died in prison.

Yakup Ekici was in charge of the invoicing department at Konya Mevlana Hospital. He was detained after 15. July and went through a heavy interrogation process that lasted for 15 days. Ekici, who was labeled a ‘terrorist’, fell into the grip of social and psychological pressure. He died of ‘liver cancer’ as a result of his troubles.

Yahya Yazar, a well-known figure of İzmir Kemalpasa, was arrested along with his 2 sons as part of investigations against Hizmet Movement. Yazar, who has severe heart disease, got colon cancer due to the sadness he experienced. Major surgeries did not yield any positive result. He died of a heart attack.

Yahya Ozcan was working at Bursagaz A.Ş, a subordinate of Bursa Municipality. After July 15, AKP municipalities started to dismiss people they saw as opposition. Yahya Ozcan was also one of the names put to the target. The chemist, who was depressed due to the financial and moral difficulties he experienced, died of a heart attack.
