His mother, Hatice Bozbay, could not continue her son’s treatment due to economic challenges. Bilal Burak, born disabled, passed away on April 11, 2018, at the age of 17.
The day Bilal Burak was buried was `Lailat-al-Miraj` (Prophet Mohammad’s rising to the sky). His father, who has been imprisoned since June 8, 2016, was able to attend his son’s funeral, with his hands in handcuffs, for two hours only. It was claimed that the father was asked for 5000 Turkish Liras to stay for 1 day.
