Mahmut Unal lived in Damyeri Village of Kozan District, Adana. He raised and brought up his three children under challenging conditions; nevertheless, all three were unjustly expelled by Decree-Law. Unal died of a cerebral haemorrhage as a result of his grief. He was buried in Damyeri Village Cemetery.
