It was alleged that Behcet Emdi, who was expelled from his profession with the Decree-Law and was arrested and imprisoned while working as a Social Studies teacher, was found hanging with a shoelace in the toilet window of the ward.

Behçet Emdi, 43, married and father of two, was working at Karabuk Safranbolu Misakı National Secondary School. Emdi was first expelled and then detained. It was also stated that Emdi’s nurse wife was dismissed from the profession in the same investigation.

Emdi was arrested by the court and put in Karabuk T Type Closed and Open Penitentiary Institution. It was announced that Emdi was found hanging with a shoelace in the toilet window of the ward where he was staying at around 07:00 on 19 November 2016.
