Professor Abdulhadi Erdal Ozdeniz was purged from his duty at Konya Selcuk University following Decree-Law No. 672, dated the 1st of September 2016, which was declared after the State of Emergency in Turkey. He was a mining engineer. 

Detained for a while after being purged, Ozdeniz was sentenced to 6 years and three months in prison. Unfortunately, he passed away due to a heart attack on the 6th of May 2020, while his case was at the Supreme Court. Professor Ozdeniz was buried in Konya Ucler Cemetery.

Konya city, best known for its Islamic sensitivities, became the city where most innocent babies, pregnant women, older people or countless naïve and harmless people were persecuted by the `Islamic!` regime in Turkey.
