Badem Kaya, along with her parents, lost her life in a traffic accident whilst returning from visiting her imprisoned husband. Her children Furkan Kaya (5) and Yusuf Kaya (12) were seriously injured. While Huseyin Kaya died at the scene, Badem Kaya and her mother Aysel died in the hospital.

Three people lost their lives, and two people were injured in the accident on September 5, 2018, in the Sarkisla, Sivas. Huseyin Ozdemir (66) was at the wheel, with the license plate 58 ER 320, hit Sarkisla Municipality’s excavated truck from behind at the entrance of the town of Sarkisla, on the Sivas-Kayseri highway. Police and firefighters services were called to the scene to rescue the injured people trapped in the vehicle. While the driver Huseyin Ozdemir died at the accident scene, Aysel Ozdemir and Badem Kaya were taken to the Sarkisla State Hospital. Unfortunately, they could not be saved and died in the hospital.
